Help 3500 mAh Battery Did Not Improve On Time

AppleUser

Android Enthusiast
Purchased two extended batteries (3500 mAh) for the LG Motion. After the usual a daily use the battery gauge emblem looks less than 25%, and when plugging in the USB charger, indeed it shows 23% charge.

Are the emblems and % charge text correct ?

Why didn't the extended battery substantially extend use ?

How is this researched and corrected ?

If the larger battery doesn't extend use, I'd rather go back to the factory installed battery and back cover.

the problems you are talking about have been stated awhile back. sorry that you are having the same problem as everyone else has. that is why its good 2 do some research.we all need to learn from our mistakes it sucks but a little research in the future will help a lot. try 2 read reviews of things they are there to help

Yeah this is the biggest issue that keeping me from buying an extended battery for this phone. :(

From what another user has said is that even though the indicator shows low battery it still gives them more life. Though not being able to accurately know how much battery life you have left is terrible.

P.S.
Sorry AppleUser for my rudeness to you in the past.

I did a SEARCH before posting, and paid attention to subject lines potential matches, and couldn't find on point answers to all my inquiries.

Kindly post some "permalinks" to those threads or posts which you feel answers all my questions.

Never thought you were rude.

So you are inferring that we should test the prior theory by using the phone, watching the % charge, and see at what point the insert charger flag appears and at what percentage charge does the phone turn off ?

You could try that and see how it goes. From what other people have said it can go to zero and can still restart and show 20%-30% charge left. I would assume this issue is a just a software glitch that LG could fix in an update, hopefully they will but I'm not counting on it.

EDIT: To see the battery percentage without plugging the phone in you can go to System Settings>Power Saver> scroll down and click on Battery Percentage. Though with an extended battery and this phone that percentage will more and likely be false, which just plain sucks!

Can you provide a link to the ones you purchased? So in the future we can determine whichones work and which we should stay away from

I use 2600mah battery and I have the same issiue with the percentage left indicator. What helps? not much, but if you feel its running terribly low, take out your battery and put it back in. After this battery indicator is more accurate.

i have an issue like this but with the stock battery. it would be full but show 91%.

i pulled the battery and it went back to normal. still weird though.

I don't know about you, but my extended battery works fine for me. I use a combination of music player and gps while connected to gps satellite and data connection. That combination would drain my stock battery in an hour an a half, if I'm lucky.

With this battery, my phone lasted on a trip that took 3 hours, with 17 percent left once I got there. Sounds like a success to me.

The package came from LVGUOPING
YUANFEN XINGCHUN FUTIAN DISTRICT
SHENZHEN GUANGDONG
CHINA 518109

Life was slightly better on the charge after one drain.

I had a realky "cool" thing happened to my battery. I completely drained it one day to 0% and phone went dark. I tried to turn it back on, and it did, I still had 27% left

I'll try that tonight.

Tried to duplicate what unnamedny reported above.

Wow ! I left the screen on, WiFi on, BT on, and eventually the Motion turned off. I removed the battery and held the power button down for 30 seconds. Put that same battery back in and the phone turned on with 36% charge remaining.

Very interesting.

I'm going to let it drain completely again, repeat this process if any charge remains, and only when the battery is exhausted, will recharge the battery fully.

Agree ?

Disagree ?

Any comments ?

this probably has to do with ics sonehow, I used to use Optimus M with extended battery and percentage was always right. Our phone just thinks it has stock battery no matter what.

Has anyone tried these ext battery's with a battery mngr app? Seems like software turns phone of when the count down hits zero, what about altering sys file once battery is properly calibrated.
