Root 3e recovery

Will there be a root for 3e recovery,or do we have to go back to 2e ? If so how do I go back to 2e , and will I be able to instal updates with it on my phone?

To go back to 2e recovery, you need a kernel with 2e recovery. E.g. going back to Eclair will bring 2e back. I think you can do the same with the voodoo kernel as well. Not entirely sure.

But if you are just trying to root, have you tried z4root?

Yes , I have tried it. I have done a fair amount of reading ,for those of us running 2.2 jk4 it does not work, hopefully a workaround will be released soon.

Just to confirm what snapper.fishes was saying: Flashing the voodoo kernel does in fact give you 2e recovery.
