Help 3G connection stopped, on Vodafone

3G symbol disappeared from on top of signal strength two days ago
It shows no symbol at all
I don't remember hitting any setting by mistake
I'm with Vodafone in Australia and up til couple of days ago data worked fine
I have 'Mobile Network' set to on
'Network Mode' is set to GSM/WCDMA auto
'Enable always-on mobile data' is set to on
'Access Point Names' is set to VF Live (live.vodafone.com)

Wifi access at home works good, but once I go out of the area there's no data available through mobile network

I've been trolling through the threads here, can't find anything that helps me
I don't know if it's related, but three times recently my bill shows data connection around 4 to 5 hours, and I was browsing the web leading up to these times, but only for 10 or 15 minutes each time
So when I finish, I use the back arrow bottom of the phone which takes me out of the browser
Is there some other way I should finish so I close the internet connection, and not rack up additional cost

I need to check my phone settings first before I go to VF and see if they have put a restriction on my account. No problems with them prior, and yes bills are paid! and there is lots and lots of data still available

Thanks,

M

oh, just remembered, I have full signal strength at home (yay!!), two others phones at home on VF have 3G showing, and I have the same no symbols showing wherever I go in the state, over the last few days

hi just seen your post ....
give this a try ....
pull the battery out and leave for 5mins while the battery is out try to turn on phone by keeping the button down as this will remove any charge left in the system.
put battery back boot up and the dail this number *#*#4636#*#*
you will now be in enginers mode and them select gsm auto prl .
hopefully your away agine if not try differant setting untill you find one that works for you.

if not we can try other options

Thanks mailman
It partly solved my problem
And left me feeling a bit sheepish:o

While re booting I noticed the H symbol came up, then replaced with the wifi symbol
So I unchecked my wifi connection and 3G came up!
Turned wifi back on, 3G went
Make complete sense, except I used to have both wifi and 3G showing

Last Thursday I had no 3G reception while driving around Melbourne, but also no wifi cos I was on the move

Vodaphone has been having it's own set of problems of late, here

And I've been home since last Thursday and have been connected to wifi, so no 3G symbol

So for some reason there's been a change in the symbols showing at the top, but all's good now

I'm happy:D
