3G down to 1x...how i fixed it.

I've had my resound for almost a week and have been getting a soild 3 g and sometimes 4g while at work...till yesterday. I was stuck at 1x while everyone around me had 3 g ..I trying everything with no luck..airplane mode ...cutting the phone off..nothing worked. Then I got mad and pulled the battery out. Working great now. Just a heads up !

Good move. Yeah, i do the same quite a bit with most of my stuff. Sometimes equipment just acts wonky and a reset doesn't quite deal with the issue. Ripping out the power supply, waiting a couple of seconds, and then rebooting usually fixes the problem. Phones, laptops, desktops, you name it.

Plus, I get a certain sense of satisfaction doing it. "Take that you piece of sh*t! You WILL OBEY ME!! YOU WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM AT MY COMMAND!! YOU work for ME, not the other way around!" I usually yell as I am doing it.

This is for the rest of the people here that pull stuff out like we do :)
After it boots up, always check that the "Mobile Network" is enabled. Mine is sometimes disabled after it boots up. We'll need that Mobile Network (Settings - Wireless & Networks -..) to be enabled to get data! Otherwise it goes from 4G to 3G to 1x, then pull/reboot... and suddenly no X and no G! :D
bye

edit: Another faster way is to check/click on the "Mobile" widget (the blue planet with 3 rings icon).

I usually have to do a battery pull a week because of this issue. I notice I only have it when I'm at work because my signal is so awful that it can't find the 4G, then just gets stuck in 1X. It's frustrating.

Occasionally happens to me when traveling and 4G comes and goes. I find toggling LTE/CDMA to CDMA only in Mobile Networks/Network Mode gets my 3G back without the battery pull. There is a handy widget 4G Toggle that saves a couple of taps getting there.

Been stuck on 1x before, not so much lately. Everything seems better. Never had to a battery pull. A restart was the only fix. I am convinced it's a network issue.

This is what I usually do. However, I had to resort to a battery pull this weekend. I believe this is a network issue more than a Rezound issue.

I had this as a reoccurring issue. I cleaned my Sim and battery connections with alcohol and turned the phone sleep at night function back on and haven't had the issue since.

At this point I am searching Rezound forums to see if I am the only one having this problem...good to see I'm not. I am having the exact same issue in the exact same conditions. It was happening before the update and after. Its been happening since 1-14, the day I got the phone.

A reboot fixes it for me. But like others I am having to do it on a regular basis because where I work the reception is bad. Sometimes I will have no data...and toggling data and/or Airplane Mode gets me back to 1x. Then I sit stuck on 1x until I reboot.

I will try some of the suggestions in this thread before trying to exchange the phone. One thing I have learned with the G Nex, RAZR and Rezound....they all can have data issues. Some are just less annoying than others...

The data loss is caused by the way the phone interacts with the tower. For some reason the tower doesn't recognize the phone's security sequence and then won't allow the phone data. Turning airplane mode on and off or a reboot forces the phone to resend credentials usually resulting in being recognized and allowed to access the network.
