3g icon disappears and no data access

I've noticed this happen 2 or 3 different times since Friday. For whatever reason the 3G icon disappears from the title bar but I still show 3-4 bars signal strength. At this time all data access is lost, no response from email, web, talk, etc.

I've tried waiting it out but it doesn't seem to respond. During this time I've also tried cycling airplane mode, but that doesn't help. So I power the phone off and back on and it comes up with 3g data access again.

Anyone seen this or know how to "wake up" 3g data access again once its gone?

Remember, Data and Voice sometimes use different frequencies.

Verizon. I assume it would probably fix itself in time, but you know how new toys are, you're constantly goofing with it, so I guess I noticed it more.

yeah happened to me a couple times. i thought it was really weird but power cycling did reset it and made it work so im assuming its a software issue. hope they fix this soon. its really annoying
