Help 3g internet not working

i had been using only wifi for about 3 months on my cell , recently i changed my sim and activated the internet plan , now even after activating it on my cell the handset doesnt connect using the 3g connection , there is no H or 3g sign on top whereas in setting mobile networks is on.
someone pls gimme a solution for dis !!

Have you got your APN's setup?

Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names

Is there anything listed? If not, you'll need to add by clicking Menu, then new APN. You'll need to call your network or google for the specific settings.

i have d default operator apn's n when i called n asked my operator , they said that my apn's were correct

This *MIGHT* be a simple support issue so contact your provider. I had this problem and for some reason 3g hadn't been activated on my plan. I rang my provider (Vodafone Australia) and the guy activated it.

And, no, I don't have a clue why it wasn't available by default. It seems really, really dumb to have to contact support to get it done and I wonder how many people are convinced their HD is "broken" when it's just something simple.
