Help 3G logo

Hi guys,

I piked up the Galaxy S yesterday as I was due an upgrade. Now coming from a clunky old phone with no internet, it's blowing me away! It also means I'm like a monkey using tools for the first time!

My upgraded plan doesn't kick in until Tuesday yet the 3g logo is showing all of the time. Does this mean it's chewing through data and therefore costing me a fortune?

I can use the wifi for free until my plan kicks in if I understand correctly?

I'm just worried that I'm permanently connected to 3g because the logo is showing.

If you do have internet within your subscription with your provider its nothing to worry about. It does'nt use mutch, its checkking for info it's only a few kb's.
If not disable 3g in your phone settings

Dont worry about it - I own SGS as well with 3G contract but no logo on it as I know it still using 3G network in my phone... when I switch on still with Samsung S logo then Pin numbers then main page.. no 3G logo
