3G mobile app is free to use???? help

i just got a droid x.

i had the original droid and i had to root it to get free wireless tethering.
Now on my Droid X non rooted,
there is a app called 3G MOBILE.

is that free to use or am i goin to to get charge on my verizon account for using it? does the droid x come with free wireless tethering originally?

please help

I believe VZW is only giving away free wireless tethering on the Thunderbolt currently and that promotion ends soon. The app you are talking about will tell verizon you are using tethering and they will charge you for it.

Yes, the D1 stock is not capable of being a 3G mobile hotspot, the DX is. All that app does is flip a switch and tell VZW you are using the data going to and from the phone as a hotspot so they can meter the use and put it towards the amount you pay for.
