Help 3G not working

Boyfriend bought the htc one S from the US while travelling there and when he came back to India, he used it for a year. Now he's given it to me. To make things easier, I did a factory reset on the phone to remove all the unnecessary junk. Ever since I did that, my phone has been getting network but it's only 2G even though I have a 3G pack activated. I'm on Vodafone india.. The apn settings were entered at the Vodafone store. Not sure what to do. I can't deal with 2G... Half of my apps don't even work. Is there some setting that I have the change since the phone is a T-mobile phone from the USA
 
Can you confirm the exact model number of your HTC One S. Because if you got a one that's US 3G bands only, it's NOT going to get 3G service in India. It's not an APN settings problem.
