3G or not 3G

I never see the 3G symbol, only the HSPA symbol, even in areas where i should be on 3G (mates phones are on 3G, mine still has HSPA)

Even if i go into settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks>networks mode and manually set it to wcdma only (which i believe is 3G) the phone still only connects and shows the H symbol.... Any ideas? or am i doing/missing something silly?

hspda is better than 3g

so its good that you see H and not 3g

The data speeds on hspda are way faster

HSDPA is better than 3G, I to am the same. I'm on T-Mobile and 95% of the time im using H, So all good .

I have not noticed 3G that often but I have seen H a lot though.

HSDPA being better than standard 3G has already been explained by everyone here, but just as a note; HSDPA is part of HSPA (HSDPA + HSUPA) which is an extension of WCDMA.

Thanks for the replys guys. I guess i was just confirming all was working ok as i never seen a 3G symbol. This phone just impresses me more and more
