Help 3G Trouble

So 3G is now enabled in my area and it is a battery killer. My phone keeps flipping between 1x and 3g which has caused it to be at 34% charge. Note, I have 4G turned off. I tried using the APN On/Off market app but 3G continues to turn on and off on the phone.

Anyone had any luck turning 3G off on the indulge?

you always try to find a different PRL. I believe 3019 does not have 3g support. i could be wrong on the exact # though
