Help 3rd party messenging apps not send mms

Anyone else having this issue? First i couldn't send mms from ANY messaging app, then after ST's shoddy rep "fixed" that (all he did was have me *22890 again and again and send myself a mms), the stock app will work with mms but none of the 3rd party apps will send or rec'v mms.
I've tried: GoSMS, Textra, Chomp
I don't see how any APN settings adjustments can help, since the Centura is a non-sim based phone and the Verizon tower settings should be already "in" the phone. Not to mention you can only change APN via the app itself.
 
Hangouts has APN settings that I had to change on the centura. I can only assume all of those apps would need APN settings to work as well
 
i guess i have 2 questions, then:
1. what APN settings did you use? keeping in mind mine is on verizon.
2. why would hangouts need separate APN settings if stock app is working?
