Ok so I have installed a 3rd party SMS app on my LG Optimus Black and I really like it. However I can not figure out how to run off the default app that came with the phone. So for now I get double notifications and I have messages in two separate areas. The third party app is much better than the standard one, but I only want one of them.

Trouble Just Finds Me!
Hi hex9! Welcome to Android Forums!! What you can do is go into the stock messaging app and go to the settings. In there you should be able to turn off the notifications. You can't delete the app itself but once you turn off the notifications you can run with the 3rd party app as if it were the primary.
