Help 4.0.4 audio bug?

anyone see this before, and have they found a fix? if im playing music with a headset, and i get an email (i get alot its a work phone), the notification will play in both the headset and the external speaker. So while im on transit with the volumn turned up for music, suddenly a loud noise will sound for a new email that everyone can hear.

my S2 on 4.0.3 never had this issue.

Just tested this and can confirm it happens on my phone too.

It appears that this is not in fact a bug, but rather by design.

If you put the phone into silent mode when you connect the headset, you will still hear the notifications etc in the headset, but the phone won't make a sound.

This has been the behaviour since GB as far as I was aware. Certainly it has been on my phone. And the one before, and before that. Same when the phone rings. It's so if your headphones are in your phone but not in your ears you don't miss anything.
