4.0 vs 4.1 vs 4.2 problem

I'm a new forum member with a question. I've had an Acer A500 for several years (running Android 4.0), and one of the things I use it for is to read the local newspaper's HTML 5 digital edition. I recently bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 which is running 4.1 and found it didn't render the page layout correctly, it overran the text over the borders of my screen on any page with a larger photo in it. Due to this and other things I didn't like, I returned it and bought a Nexus 10, which is running 4.2. The N10 has the exact same rendering problem as the Note had with certain pages on the newspaper.

The old A500 handles these pages fine. Would this likely be something to do with the Android OS version, or does someone have any other ideas?

If I can't get it resolved I'll probably return the Nexus as well and save the money. Thanks for any ideas.

I suspect that the underlying android version number isn't your problem.

You are using 3 different manufacturers, likely with 3 different stock browsers

Have you tried simply using a different browser?

Thank you -- too simple, I guess. It was Firefox - I've switched to it for most things because Chrome won't run flash. The site in question renders perfectly in Chrome, so maybe I'll reserve Firefox for those times I need to run flash.

Sometimes I work too hard to figure out a problem! Thanks again for the help.

No problem! I'm glad it was that simple of a fix.

Chrome is my main browser, it seems to work pretty good. You'll just need another one for flash content
