4.2.2 Camera rotate landscape/portrait lag

I've noticed this on every 4.2.2 camera I've tried so far (JBSourcery, AOKP, and one other version from other forums --- and yes, they all functioned slightly differently), however one common thing I noticed was the lag when going form portrait to landscape mode and back. With the stock 4.1.1 Camera (and probably the stock 4.2 AOSP camera -- I'm not sure) there is zero lag.

I also noticed this in the VZW leak (from a video I watched --- I haven't flashed it -- I'm on a VZW GNex).

Does this lag happen for everyone with the 4.2.2 Camera, even those on maguro who have gotten the official update?

Pretty sure that's the way the official camera is. No idea why they made it so the entire screen has to rotate (which causes the lag). Its such a strange decision, because even back when I had my Eris on 2.1 (and 1.5 for that matter), all that happened is that the icons rotated.

Whoever programmed the official camera really dropped the ball on that. Otherwise I really like the camera with the settings gestures, but that rotate leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.
