4.2 update problems

I had a rooted my nexus 7 and wanted to update to 4.2 I went through the install process and it appeared to work I have lost root but if I check on the system it says I have 4.1.2 installed. I I tried the update button but it says system is up to date. Can anyone tell me when they have done the update does your system say 4.2 or 4.1.2

If you have 4.2 it will say 4.2. Were you trying to install the update yourself rather than OTA? No need to really do that. Just go into apps, Force Close Google Service Framework, Clear Data, then go back into About Tablet and check for updates. This will usually trigger the official download. I just got mine to download the update. Worked fine. System version now says 4.2.

No I got a message saying to update, I tried the framework and no joy.

Wish I'd read this yesterday. I manuallly updated it. Lost root in the process but it didn't re-lock it so it was easy to reroot. I didn't really see anything groundbreaking in 4.2 so it's not something I'd loose sleep over.

I have tried the framework idea again ( it works about 25% of the time) I have downloaded the update 4 times and it still won't update. Going by what I hear it could be better off with what I have I just hope the next update works.

I did the update last night on my rooted device. Wasn't using any custom ROMs and no system files nodded. Used OTA Root keeper and also enabled Survival mode in SuperSU-Pro. Updated without any problems. Apart from Stick mount not working. Which a lot of us are in the situation.

Still, I think this update was pretty pointless. Hope you work out the prob with your unit. But I agree stick with 4.1.2 for the time being.
