4.4.2 problem (small issue)

so with 4.2.2 when i opened a text in the default messaging app (s3 mini btw) i could click a hyperlink and a menu would let me chose "open in browser". after the 4.4.2 update i can only click on the hyperlink and it just give the option to copy text. so i must copy, open browser, paste, go to open a hyperlink. instead of tap, tap done. any advice on how to fix this issue.

The function you described is known as "default chooser." In Settings > Manage apps, try clearing cache, data, and default (if any) for all browsers you have installed. Then reboot and see if the problem still exists. If it does, sorry, but I'm out of ideas.

Note that clearing data will erase any configurations or preferences in that app, so be sure to write them down or take a screen-shot first.

Quite possibly try using a different message app, one with more functionality like Whatsapp or GoSMS
