4.4.2, Whats it all about?

You'll need a custom ROM to get transparency and ART. Root don't change the stock ROM.

Well, wishing never hurt. ART doesn't make me all too happy but I think we should have transparency available if not even as just an option to enable it.................

seems Google cares far more about the Nexus 5 they're pushing and pulling an Apple with their other products, giving us only half if not 1/3 the features. they have other similarities with Apple lately, first with Device Manager (find my iPhone), Google Play Games/cloud saves (iCloud/Game Center) and now new OTA but only for the latest offerings (iOS 7 giving all features to the 5c and iPad 3/4 but only parts of them to earlier devices)

Device manager was a no brainer for them to have, and cloud game saves is just an extension of the cloud settings and contacts settings they always have.

If apple had them first, so be it. They're useful features.

As for the OTA updates, If you are referring to transparent nav bars then there are plenty of launcher replacements that have it.

If you're referring to ART, I've explained many times before its an experimental feature and isn't ready for prime time. They'll release it when it's ready. Don't expect a timeline or explanations for why it was left out, as its very much beta at best

I know with Nova launcher on the Nexus 10 the transparencies are not offered on 4.4.2 with the OTA. This is a small thing to give up for now and I have no issue in a wait and see.

ART does not really affect performance of the Nexus 10 but can affect compatibility. So for now no thank you. Once ready for prime time I will be early in line.

"1/3rd of the features'

Proof or GTFO.

Basically, you're saying that Google should stagnate and not offer sensible additions to their infrastructure because it might be similar to Apple.
