Hello. I've been with Metro for years now. Was one of the last to upgrade to a smartphone, and when I did, the cheapest plan available was $50/month (which was the minimum for all smartphones). Was on metropcs website looking into upgrading my phone when I noticed the $40 plan was now available for ALL the phones. I tried switching back to the $40 plan on their website and it said it wasnt available for my phone (LG Optimus which is 3G), so I called them up. What a nightmare. At first, the woman I got on the phone barely spoke English and was talking a mile a minute. I had to keep asking her to repeat herself and I can tell she was getting annoyed. When I asked her why the $40 plan was not available for my phone, she said because I have a smartphone. When I replied that the $40 plan was available for all the smartphones they offer and asked her the same question again, she started pressing buttons in my ear and wouldnt stop!! So, I hung up and called again. Got a different woman on the phone this time that spoke better English that gave me a slightly different answer. At first she said it was because I had a smartphone. When I gave her the same reply I gave the first woman, she said "well, if youd let me finish Ill explain". LOL Whats wrong with these people? I didnt even cut her off... she was finished! She then proceeded to tell me that because my phone is 3G that the $40/month plan is not avalable for my phone. I then made her aware that there is a Huawei 3G phone available on the site for $40 a month. Now, this woman started being an a-hole and sounded like she just dropped her headset (or the phone) and just left it there. I was able to hear talking in the background. Eventually I just hung up. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks!
