You can find some information about coding in Android Development - Android Forums. But pardon me if I am making an incorrect assumption, but isn't the purpose of assignments to learn for yourself? If a teacher/professor/instructor has given you this assignment, then I would assume it's part of a lesson and if you don't quite grasp the lesson then you should go to that person and tell them so. It's their job to help you understand and there's no shame in admitting that something is over your head. Good luck.
