4G keeps turning on

Gendo420

I'm on the stock 4.1.2, rooted. 4G just turns itself on, I turn it off and watch the switch flip to on. Anyway to disable 4G entirely? There is no connection optimizer, all power saving stuff is off.

I had been running cm10.1 for months, but in the last 3 weeks my service went to shit and would not let me send a text message unless I walked down the street. Not sure if it is changes on the tower and the ics modems not able to cope is the issue, but now service is fine.
I can turn off 4G separately, it just turns itself back on.

On the Stock TW Jelly Bean I had to remove connections Optimizer. I also got rid of that Sprint phone info thing (I didn't trust it being set as a device administrator)

There is no connection optimizer, this is the Boost stock GC01. No sprint stuff either, I've already frozen all of the Boost crap-ware

Now here is the funny part, that was happening when I was at work, here at home it's not doing it. You think somehow one of the various routers is the area might be triggering the 4G?

It is there it may be named differently. I don't have a Boost ROM on my phone or I would find the culprit for you.

Do you have this app? Connectionmanager-wimax.apk?

No this would be a system app. /data/app is for user apps. Look it up with Titanium backup.

/system/app the Touch Wiz Jelly Bean also has a /preload partition

Do you have Titanium Backup? If so, then freeze it. Or have Gemini app manager block it (same thing as freezing). Side note, look in your security settings under device manages and see if you have anything listed.

Go to settings/more settings/mobile networks/connections optimizer.

There you will find the answer for you issue.

I'm on stock rooted boost, nothing in the settings under mobile networks except enabling mobile data, but I did freeze it with TB so far so good, thanks codegerm
