Hey everyone. New here, posted up my introduction. Hoping to learn a lot through owning this phone.
But there's something currently wrong with my One X that i just got about a month or two ago.
Problem:
I can connect perfectly fine to wifi networks. Outside of that, I cannot use the internet. Nor can I use the GPS feature. I was able to use both perfectly fine one day then all of a sudden it stopped working.
Basic troubleshooting:
I've made sure that mobile network was turned on, and it is.
-I turned it off and back on and this doesn't work.
I've made sure airplane mode was not on, and it wasn't.
-I turned on airplane mode and turned it off several times to no avail.
I've done a soft reboot, nothing. Multiple times.
-Also reset my APN to default settings twice on different occasions. and
This didn't work.
Just found out my GPS keeps searching for networks, not connecting at all.
I've deleted all apps that i thought might be suspiciously blocking network connection. Installed Airpush Detector and deleted any apps that had airpush, this was before the network issues.
My 4g LTE light is on, and next to it there's this icon that looks like a Mute icon. Mute icon is probably okay considering I never have my ringtone volume up since i'm working all the time.
GPS icon lights up when i turn GPS on...still no GPS.
Called AT&T and they changed whatever settings they changed and told me to reboot my phone. This didn't work and they escalated this issue to the mysterious people that will calling me within some designated window of time that I'm unsure of.
I'm currently at 2.7GB of my 3GB data plan. But AT&T said they would have not throttled me at that number, and they would have been able to tell me if they did this anyway. So this has to be out as a cause, right? if so, i''ll update my data plan, see if it fixes the issue and report back. (some 'unlimited' plan this is.)
Research I've done:
Seems to be a reoccuring issue with the HTC One X, some having problems with the 4g lte service, others connecting to the wifi, and so on. Seems to be a widely varying topic as far as what's causing it. I've only seen one issue like mine, but they were able to remedy the problem by soft rebooting and airplane mode. Tried looking through the developer tools for something that might be blocking network connection but there's nothing that's doing that.
What I think the problem is?
It's gotta be hardware. There's no way I could've just completely shut off my internet. There's no settings left for me to change that would allow this block of data. AT&T has no idea wtf is going on.
Should I call HTC? Best Buy since I got their 1 yr warranty? What do you guys think I should do?
