4g notification icon

Just got my Note last night and love it so far! (AT&T)

I live in an area where I didn't think had 4G support, but the notification icon says "4G". Will it say "4G" even if i'm really on a 3G network? Or am I really connected to a 4G network?

try running a speed test. When I'm using 3g, my dload usually 2-3mb, but when using 4g, i'm at least 5-7 depending my location. As far as the 4G notification or 3G, I would assume it would show 3G icon but I could be wrong. Good luck!

I'm getting 3300 Download on "4G". In comparison, using home Wifi, I'm getting 9600.

Being that i'm getting about 1/3 the speed of Wifi, do you think it's really 3G? I imagined 3G would be 10x slower than Wifi.

Mine shows either 4G,sometimes briefly just a G and finally Edge.I have been told it will show 4G even though it is really 3G or HSPA+.There is no 3G indicator.

tryck is right. There is no 3G icon built into the phone, so it can't tell you when you're in 3G, which is them trying to make you think that their network is better than it is. Overall mine works great, so I'm not complaining, it's just dumb that they'd do that.

Ummm... 4G icon guys? My Note displays a 3G icon when the phone is not in use and when I start accessing data it changes to H or H+ -- is there really a 4G icon? In the setup area I can only configure GSM or WCDMA modes. Is this right?
Thanks

I'm referring to the U.S. one on At&t. I think there are differences between this and the International one.

Like John said, you have the International one it seems.
