Any time its connected to LTE wont matter if its tmo or metro it will depend on the phone most metro phones will not have 4G LTE icon.

The current metro phones will show 4G still since that's the only 4G it's ever had access to but the future ones could show all sorts of different stuff.
HSPA- H,H+,4G even 3G
LTE- LTE, 4G, 4GLTE
All depends on the phone but on most you can go in with root permissions and change the symbol like on my motion I changed it to 1x->2G and EV->3G

the phone can have any symbol u want doesn't matter what signal ur picking up. my point is phone carriers add the icons to the phone so its can say 4g or 4g lte. its in the framework.apk

I always wanted metro to incorporate the lte icon on their 4g signal icon, like the one att uses I believe tmobile has the lte icon in their 4g I just like the way it looks I guess cosmetic taste lol I change mines with toolbox pro anyway

Lol if ya decompile framework.apk ya will find most of all the icons from wifi to gps to 3g and 4g in fact if you guys ever used rom toolbox pro ya can remember it let u change icons styles. But anyways back to topic I understand NC is mostly country and 4g showing up over there is a big deal I would imagine with tmobile help the spread of 4g is spreading even faster.
