4G speedtest

Do you have any 3 rd party apps from like unknown sources not from the Android market? I would call Verizon and see what they say could enlighten you?

i only have some 3rd party apps but thats just for rooting... i will call them later today but they wont ever be able to tell us what is causing this.

Network speeds fluctuate based on numerous factors (network load, maintenance, interference, tides, astrological sign, etc). it will probably go back to normal within a day or two. Its almost certainly NOT caused by seeking on you're phone (although you can user system panel or something else to check network usage).

Try toggling airplane mode on and off, or try restarting your phone.

Its also possible the problem is on the server side, and not yours. I just tried the 2 closest servers to me, and one had a download of 18mb/s while the other had 7mb/s.

I did try restarting the phone and putting in airplane mode and still the same speed. I live in Fort Wayne, IN so the two big servers are Indianapolis and Chicago. Chicago is better but still way to slow.. this is 3G speeds

That's still better then at&t's so called 4G. I average about 3 mbps at night, 5 early morning and maybe about 1 during peak hours.

I know... i just came from At&t and know i shouldnt be bitching about it.. with At&t i was getting .6 Mb downloading and after only 2.6 GB (On my "unlimited" data plan) they would slow me to .02 downloading... Got to love At&t

Maybe its your location? I get less than 1/2 the speed in my house when I walk in and shut the glass sliding door. At my work there is a tower 100 yards from me and I can't get any 4g coverage there. But its still better than ATT, who I just left from last month!!!

I don't have 4G in my area yet. Just switched from at&t as well, and my area still only gets edge coverage from them. I'm actually quite conetent with the speeds I get on 3G.
