4g to 3g Transition

Hi,

When I go into an elevator that doesn't have 4g reception, it switches smoothly to 3g, but when I get out of the elevator it doesn't switch back to 4g immediately. I takes around 5 minutes (sometimes more if I am using a program that involves data usage) to switch back. The only way I got it to switch back fast was by switching on/off airplane mode. Is this normal? If it makes a difference, my carrier is verizon.

I have the exact same issue. I was using an app called "Open Signal" to refresh the network to get it back. I tried "Airplane Mode" and your right that works. I'm hoping a software fix can cure this issue.

Yes, I am hoping a software update fixes this issue. I don't think this is a sim card issue because I seen this with 2 other s3 phones (unless we all got sim card issues). I hope others can share their experience. Yeah that airplane mode trick worked for my droid x too whenever I would lose data connection.
