4G to 3G

Is there a way to switch my 4G (T-Mobile) to 3G network speeds to preserve what little 4G I have left this month? Without having to pay for anything, of course.

might be different for the sgs3 but on my phone theres a setting in the menu for "usage" and with it you can impose data limits on your device.

path from phone would be something like : settings> data usage > "set mobile data limit"

With T-Mobile 4G and 3G are the same thing HSPA+. The only way to save data would be to go to 2G (Edge), but no E-Mail, Web or MMS.

seriously? yeah both may be hspa+capable, however, there is a difference in consumption : i dont have the exact speeds and capabilities but i know your incorrect. 3g and 4g are not the same thing; related but second cousins if you will.

Of course there is email and MMS on EDGE. EDGE is just slower than 3G, but still can use data.

I only stated MMS as it takes so long to send on mine and usually times out and the same if there is a picture in the E-Mail.
