4g

Hey there chippy...

I found this list here: List of 4G Phones, Devices, and Smartphones Available

It is relatively up to date, just missing the following devices (off the top of my head):

-Galaxy Note 2
-Galaxy S3
-RAZR MAXX
-RAZR MAXX HD
-RAZR M
-HTC One X(+)

I really can't remember anymore haha, hope this helps!

Nearly every phone released in the last year will be 4G capable. If you're paying over $50, ask the seller, but safe to assume it's 4g.

Hi Chippy, and welcome to AF :)

I don't know what country you are from, but if it's the UK you should be aware that there are handsets like the One X and S3 which come in 4G and non-4G versions, so you need to make sure you get the right one.

Which is absolutely fantastic. Say goodbye to CDMA in the states. Big Red is phasing it out by 2015. Seems like the end of dumb phones to me.

Sprint still has CDMA, and 4G LTE. Now Verizon may get rid of it, but I doubt CDMA will disappear from the US anytime soon. :)

Come on now, a Sprint reference? They can't decide which technology they want. You're probably right though..they'll keep trying to use it unsuccessfully until they fade into obscurity. I'm a stockholder, but don't have much faith in Hesse.

Should have merged with T-Mob when they had a chance.

Correct, here in the UK the One X+ isn't 4G (so far).

EE (Orange/T-Mobile) are offering the following 4G Phones: Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE and Note II LTE, the HTC One XL and Huawei P1 LTE. The trick is to look for "LTE" in the phone name or spec (hence S3 LTE rather than S3, One XL rather than One X). At the moment it's a very short list.

I've not seen the LTE models for sale in independent online retailers yet, but that's presumably only a matter of time.

Remember that EE's LTE is using the 1800 band, so US LTE handsets are likely to be incompatible - check carefully before buying an import phone. The other UK networks aren't offering LTE yet, and it will be in different bands when they do IIRC.
