Root 5.0.5.7 Question/Help

I am having trouble with the SoundRecorder.apk file not showing up on the phone. It's in the /system/app file but no where to be found on the phone to use. I have removed it from the /system/app file and reinstalled it by pushing it back to the system/app but still I see no way to use it. I have tried installing by putting the apk on the root of my sd card and used Astro and Root Explorer and tried to install that way and still nothing.

Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.
 
Hmm, don't see it here either. I wonder if it is one of those apps that you can only access when sound events (music, phone conversation, etc) are in play....
 
I don't have this ROM, but Sound Recorder definitely shows up as an app in my BB v0.8. Have you checked to make sure your permissions in /system/app are correct?
 
I have tried everything, and I use it a lot in meetings. I might have to flash back to NexBeast
 
I checked a few other apps in the /system/app folder and it has the same permissions.
 
hmm, have you tried pulling it out like you did before, then rebooting, an then putting it back in and rebooting again?
 
Still not showing up anywhere on the phone except in the /system/app folder and Setting-Applications-Manage Applications-Menu-Filter-All
