Root 500 MB Android Backgroud Data?

I just noticed that about half of my data this month went to background data used by the Android OS. Of my 1.05 GB I've used this month, 527 MB of that went to background data for the Android OS! I'm on Mobster Rom HD, so is it possible that one of the apps is showing up as part of the Android OS? The funny thing is that I think the data went up over night from 280 to 527.

Try droidwall. It works wonders just make sure after you set it up you keep in mind you are going to have to change accordingly when you install new apps

I got that app now and blocked "10000: Android System" and have yet to see if this lowers my OS data.

Actually, now I tried to watch some YouTube over 4G and the funny thing is that first, the data started going up under Android OS! The amount of data used by YouTube did not change. However, the opposite started to happen. The YouTube app seems to be accounting for not only data for YouTube, but also for Android OS.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't system apps come up as the android OS using data? So wouldn't YouTube being in the system be the culprit there?

That's exactly what I though, but Youtube had its own category which also takes data.
