$530 or $570???

How much did you pay? I hear some saying they only paid $530 but when I go to checkout, tax is $40! Bringing the total to $570!
 
570 including tax. Why are we paying tax anyway. I thought we only had to pay tax if their was a physical store in your state

Lol you sound surprised! Don't you pay tax on the things you buy? It's not really a new concept :p

Btw - $570 for me in CO.
 
I paid $530 here in CA. It looks odd which states are getting charged tax. I figured CA would for sure because Google is based here.
 
$560.74/Iowa. I assume I was charged tax because Google operates a large datacenter in the state.
 
Just to chime in cause I noticed it do it for me a few times messing back and forth with the buy screen. It isn't dependent on where you live, if you're getting charged taxes or not. It's Google's set up. Every other time messing with different options upon check out, I went from getting taxed to no taxes back to getting taxed again.

IE: Get to the check out page with out engraving. Then reload it and choose the engrave option and goto the check out page and then reload it again. Messing back and forth like this prevents the tax, at least was for me.

Didn't work for me, but the two different prices from MD does sound promising. I got $572.64 for two TX addresses, and $577.93 for a CA address.

I dunno. I had it happen all through out the opening day. So maybe it was just a bug that day. I'll mess with it again tonight when I place my order and see.
