As I recall, there was an update (called a "Marshmallow preview") for the employee edition Turbo 2 in December. I don't know if that was considered a soak test, or if there was a soak test for that prior to its release. In this case the article claims a soak test occurred in December. I follow them pretty closely. As far as I know there was no soak test in December. There was a "preparation" for a soak test.
I elected to go the route where they sent me a phone. After asking the Motorola rep 3 times if I would get the SAME EXACT Employee Edition phone, which he said yes to every time...I got an email with a MotoMaker redemption code to go online and build my own. I was disappointed because if anyone has seen the Employee Edition, it comes with options not available through MotoMaker. ....I did enjoy having Marshmallow on my Turbo 2 though....
Yea, I say I got the Marshmallow update in early December.
I'm sure you mean 6.0.1, which is Android's latest release. Hopefully that's what will happen (if it is coming out soon.)I'm wondering (and have no information to back it up) if they are skipping 6.0 and going to 6.1 on the Turbo 2.
That is the ONLY mention of it happening that I have seen ANYWHERE.

As for soak tests, as recently as last week Motorola was asking for people to join the Motorola Feedback Network: https://plus.google.com/+DavidSchuster/posts/KxsjMqMntqJ?hl=en
But we'll see if Moto does them only for the non-carrier models going forward?
Androidlife posted today that the Employee Versions (red color, no optiopn for any other color if an that edition is used) got their 6.0 over the last 3 weeks. Most, if not all have it.
From the 5.0 update to the KitKat loaded Droiid Turbo 1 happening 2 months after their Employee update, we are looking at May. Guessing.
Check this out.AS noted in the sticky above the employee addition was released on December 15. I have no idea what article in Aroid Life you are referencing.
Marshmallow will make it onto the Turbo 2 sometime. There are a lot of variables. Guessing is a waste of time.
