It is starting to show up at other reporting sites ... and as you noted ... the referenced article now says ...

Update 12:30PM: For some reason, Verizon pulled the Turbo 2 software update page with the Marshmallow details. We aren’t sure why, but we’ll keep an eye on it.

IIRC, that's usually a good sign. I seem to recall this happening before with a Droid update, and it started pushing within a few days.

Yes it may be happening ...
or
It could be a mistake made that was corrected.
or
It could be ...

(No one on the Motorola Owners Forum has reported receiving anything.)

I remember it well. Someone at Verizon posted the page about three weeks before the release and it was taken down. The soak test for that release started about a week after the incident.

In this case the article claims a soak test occurred in December. I follow them pretty closely. As far as I know there was no soak test in December. There was a "preparation" for a soak test.

I don't know if the new owner of Motorola is continuing with soak tests. This release will be an indicator of that.

If it follows previous history ... Marshmallow will be out by mid March.

I got the Turbo 2 to have the "flagship" platform. Flagship seems to have a new meaning with the new owner.

As I recall, there was an update (called a "Marshmallow preview") for the employee edition Turbo 2 in December. I don't know if that was considered a soak test, or if there was a soak test for that prior to its release.

I have seen one anecdotal report of Marshmallow on the T2: http://forums.androidcentral.com/motorola-droid-turbo-2/613447-green-line-turbo-2-a.html#post4950302 and http://forums.androidcentral.com/motorola-droid-turbo-2/613447-green-line-turbo-2-a.html#post4951680 (same thread...)

I elected to go the route where they sent me a phone. After asking the Motorola rep 3 times if I would get the SAME EXACT Employee Edition phone, which he said yes to every time...I got an email with a MotoMaker redemption code to go online and build my own. I was disappointed because if anyone has seen the Employee Edition, it comes with options not available through MotoMaker. ....I did enjoy having Marshmallow on my Turbo 2 though....

Yea, I say I got the Marshmallow update in early December.

That second post includes screenshots. They appear real to me. The employee edition, as far as I know, was truly limited to Verizon employees (in the past, Verizon has sold "employee edition" Droid brand to the general public, but I'm not aware that they did so with the Turbo 2). I'm not sure how that user was able to get one.

Yes they are both ... 24.11.13 - Employee Edition - 2015.12.13 ... listed in the sticky above.

The Employee Edition was released without a Soak Test on December 12. This was release 24.11.13. The "leaked then pulled" article references 24.14.9.

You may recall that on the Turbo (not the Turbo 2) they went from 4.4.4 to5.1 and skipped the problematic 5.0.

I'm wondering (and have no information to back it up) if they are skipping 6.0 and going to 6.1 on the Turbo 2.

I'm sure you mean 6.0.1, which is Android's latest release. Hopefully that's what will happen (if it is coming out soon.)

I'm wondering what the security patch level will be - on the employee edition Marshmallow update, it was December 2015 (which was the most current at the time.)

As for soak tests, as recently as last week Motorola was asking for people to join the Motorola Feedback Network: https://plus.google.com/+DavidSchuster/posts/KxsjMqMntqJ?hl=en

But we'll see if Moto does them only for the non-carrier models going forward?

That is the ONLY mention of it happening that I have seen ANYWHERE.

Androidlife posted today that the Employee Versions (red color, no optiopn for any other color if an that edition is used) got their 6.0 over the last 3 weeks. Most, if not all have it.

From the 5.0 update to the KitKat loaded Droiid Turbo 1 happening 2 months after their Employee update, we are looking at May. Guessing.

AS noted in the sticky above the employee addition was released on December 15. I have no idea what article in Aroid Life you are referencing.

Marshmallow will make it onto the Turbo 2 sometime. There are a lot of variables. Guessing is a waste of time.

Check this out.

Just got it today. Albany, NY region.

Definitely have your phone charging when you do the OS upgrade. I was plugged in to my computer USB, and it sucked 20% of the battery away.

I checked XDA Forums and people reported getting the update. I hadn't yet, so I checked manually and sure enough it appeared. I'll do it tonight after I plug in the phone. People have said the phone gets warm, so just beware.

The update just downloaded to my device but I haven't installed it yet. Should I wipe my cache or reboot the phone before installing? The device is working so well as is, I hesitate to install it. I'm hoping a factory reset won't be necessary.

I installed the 6.0 yesterday. The phone seams a bit quicker but wouldn't notice a difference if I haven't installed the update myself. The one issue I'm having is my phone is not turbo charging anymore. I took a quick stroll through the settings, but could not find anything about turning on turbo charging. Any advice?

Mine works correctly on both Turbo chargers that came with Turbo 2 s.

Plug and socket connecting it to the Turbo 2 have some debris or lint perhaps?

When you plug it in what happens?

The phone does recognize the charger. The charging icon comes on the screen. It seams every now an again it get a bit of charge. Up to (4%) I've tested the charger on other devices and it charges them. I've tried the phone on multiple charger with no success. My theory is more that the battery just happen to give out on the day I installed marshmallow, and the two have nothing to do with each other. Looks like I'm in for a trip to my friendly Verizon store.
