As I look out of my window all I can see is a Blizzard.
T he sun has not penetrated the grey cloud today and is unlikely to.
My Desire has a huge yellow Sun blazing on the Home screen.

All depends on where the weather station is in relation to your position.

For example, I'm near Chelmsford and the data comes from Stanstead Airport which is not built up at all. Consequently my phone is currently showing -7 and Sunny whereas it is cloudy and only -2 where I am.

This is why I use the HTC app to show off the phone :) and Snowstorm for more accurate weather reports. It is currently showing the village I live in as the location, partly cloudy and -3, much closer to the real thing.

Mine was near 100% accurate over the weekend, my home weather station said it was -9.9 and my phone said it was -10

There's nothing wrong with the widget but it can hardly be expected to pick up weather data for every town and village across the world can it? Stop using the widget if it doesn't provide accurate enough data.

Yes - so was mine over the weekend (maybe I should have made that clear) - but my main issue is the inconsistent nature of the widget.

You would think not but it does ..... sometimes it has the weather for my (rural) location EXACTLY or (accepting the data comes from Bristol 20 miles away) pretty close. And sometimes - like today - it's very wrong

Fair point. but when it does work it's great - lightning flashing whilst the same thing is happening outside my window! Anyway this is pictured on almost every piece of advertising material published for the Desire and a such has a very high profile. Spending days displaying "no weather data" for whatever reason should be a priority for HTC to address. Likewise, despite refreshing, the sun shining on the display when it has been dark for 2 hours.

I always refresh my weather widget when my homescreen weather doesnt match whats outside. I heard that HTC uses accuweather for their weather info, maybe that is the reason. Mine is pretty accurate most of the time. If its not I just open my weather channel widget and check there.

recently everyone on most HTC phones have been having multiple issues with the Weather Widget since around end of last week...

At first thought it was something to do with the recent firmware update on 2.2 for the Desire, but then its apparent on those who HAVEN'T updated to the newest firmware...and then others on different phones as well, my other half had trouble with her Wildfire and there were others having trouble with Legends and Evo's.

There wasn't just one issue, I myself had two rather large ones...either no data on the widget via the GPS auto finding (but ok when manually doing it) or it later on finding the wrong place and not letting it update....MY issues have resolved themselves, but only in the last day..

Nickkr you may be experiencing something along the same lines...the inaccurate results might be yet another issue with the link between Accuweather and HTC, as last week it was the GPS server side maybe its no localised to causing fluctuating temps...hell I know mine shot from suddenly 0 to -11 in a matter of 10 minutes....dont see that being genuine myself lol
