Help 64 GB MicroSD card issue

Hello, I own a Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6, and I recently have bought a 64GB microSD card, because everyone was telling me it was compatible as long as I formatted it in the device. Sometimes, when I format it in the device it registers as a 64gb card, but when I restart the device, it tells me that the card is broken again. I have also tried formatting it in my computer. I don't know what i'm doing wrong, or if I bought the wrong card or whatever. All help is appreciated. Thanks!

What brand did you try? I have heard the same thing with regards to formatting in player, but have never tried it. Also I have heard that an off brand card has a significantly better chance of being problematic.

It's probably good quality then. I'm not sure what to tell you, maybe with this card it is not possible to get it to work? I know that it works with San disk cards as I have read a lot about that.

It can be done when you format the card in the player. It has been reported by many users. Maybe it doesn't work with all 64gb cards?

Give the thread a little more time, there are plenty of people on here that know a lot more about this than me. Give them a little time to chime in.

I'm not sure. I was almost positive I saw a guy do it with this exact card, and I would but I don't wanna have to keep my device on 24/7, 365.

Thanks for the reply! I have seen a few people do it before, even though it isn't technically supported. I should have expected it to not be for sure considering it isn't supported by Samsung.

I got my 4.2 player to format a 64gb card ok. Once loaded with media, it took annoyingly long for the stupid media scan to run, holding up almost any use after bootup. So i swapped it with a 32gb. My archos tab handles 64gb better since it also handles disk drives. The 3.6 is by far the most disappointing player design... I have them all... So maybe isnt as card capable as the 4.2.

Ps... There have been many fake cards sold such as on ebay. You can format but not use them

My Sandisk 64gb card played up in my 5.0 when I first got it.
Try formatting it in the device twice in a row, then turn it off and on a few times. Only put a few file on it and see if it behaves.
That's what I did and after it was fine, and hasn't played up since.

Hope this helps.

Marcel
