Help 6th time

this is my 6th or 7th try for update my galaxy s 2.1 through kies but during in upgrade mode one message has pop-up

"An unexpected error has caused firmware upgrade to fail. do you want to recovery now"

then nothing was happen and i unplug the phone from cable.

now my 2.1 is still running.

but but but but but but i want froyo 2.2 right now please help any one.

Make sure your phone is unrooted and all lag-fixes are removed. (Yes you don't have to unroot, but you're currently stuck anyway)


Also make sure your firewall (or any other security software) on your PC isn't blocking Kies.


Assuming that all is done above, do a factory reset on your phone. Chances are you have something running rogue (most possibly an app) on your phone. (BTW it wouldn't hurt to do a factory reset after you install Froyo as well)


If you are still having issues then you gotta find another computer to update with. Remember Kies isn't a friendly app, and sometimes one PC will play nice with it other another. Best of luck...

Use Odin To Upgrade Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 To Android 2.2 Froyo here is the detailed step by step guide to upgrade to froyo, i have done this many times experimenting with other firmwares but everytime i have them, i revert to this firmware (xxjpo froyo) with voodoo lagfix. stock firmware with my sgs is xxjf3 (eclair), i also have tried with the latest xxjpu but it could not connect to kies. xxjpo easily connect to kies. i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit and since upgrading to froyo xxjpo, i never had a problem with kies anymore.
