Yeah, it's really an incremental update. Highlighted features include:To be honest i can't see much difference from 7.0
sounds like 7.1.1 is a winner. i am with verizon and have not updated for a few months--wanting to void possible 7.0 battery bugs.
is verizon letting the 7.1.1 update come through? i am not tech savy nor do i have the time and interest to learn how to flash various roms/operating systems. i called called advanced verizon tech support and they had no info at all. i called google tech support and they were clueless.

Interesting, but not terribly surprising - given that the game hasn't been updated since Kitkat. It has broken Virtua Tennis. That app constantly crashes now.
I agree. My 6p has been in beta 7.1.1 since it came out. Other than 1 or 2 hiccups every now and then, which is to be expected with beta sw in general as you already knows my battery, and performance are just fine.I've been on the 7.1.1 beta since it first became available, and haven't yet received an OTA for the release version. I can't promise that it fixes the battery life issues, though, as I didn't really have much of a problem on 7.0 anyway.
The truth is that most people do not have any battery problems with Nougat - those that do just tend to be a bit more vocal, so those are the stories you hear and read. I'd encourage you to go ahead and upgrade, give your phone a couple of days to settle in, and see how things work out.
i am still on MM based upon concerns with battery life. is the new 7.1.1 able to correct the battery life issues?
Precisely why I bought my 6p through the play store from Google. They stand behind the product and I've not had any such treatment. Perhaps you failed to read some fine print in the user agreement? I don't know... I'm just giving an alternative view.
When I still had three Nexus 5, the screen cracked after I dropped my phone. It was a tiny crack that wasn't visible without turning it to just the right light, and was clearly not covered. Plus, the crack was way off to the corner where my finger never touches during regular use. Google sent a new phone stating they wanted me happy.
I've always gotten this type of help from them. I'd never go over to the dark side, but then iOS isn't an OS I can like... I've not liked how little I can make it look like my own device...
On setting it shows a pre 7.0 update from a few months ago. I would need to do all the pending update before 7.1.1. And be stuck k on 7.0 if 7.1.1 not because or Verizon or Google.
I like my 6p on marshmallow and do not want to start updating u til I am sure my 6p will be improved with what ever update is available.
With reboot cycles and batteries issues floating
Around, I want more than an 80 percent chance I will have a significant improvement when I do my pending updates.
Any thoughts. I am without the knowledge nor time to teach myself about flashing rows. My 6p is a reliable appliance important I'm daily
Life like a refrigerator.
A 'tiny percentage of affected units' (as Google would like to have everyone believe) has now affected a representative for CNET.
Shame on Google:

The big problem with waiting on every update until you're sure is guaranteeing you mess your phone up. The incremental updates add stability and bug fixes, not to mention security fixes. Waiting gives you a big chance that something somewhere along the way will brick your phone. Accepting each incremental update keeps you on line with Android's pathway to better functionality and security.
Security is the reason I do it. I bought my 6p from the Google Play Store, so have their backing. I've been treated very nicely and won't buy from my vendor again...
I agree. I buy from Google and they are adamant I'm happy. I don't buy elsewhere because I may save some money up front, but not later on.
