I read that the camera recorded in 720p but the screen res is only 480 x 800. That doesn't really make much sense. We aren't able to watch the videos we make in there full glory.

Wouldn't that be 800p instead of 720p.....correct me if I'm wrong...but that would make it completely capable of doing 720p video..

It's not uncommon for a phone/camera to take higher quality video then the display it has.

480 x 800 would be 480p

The phone can record 720p but it lowers the resolution for playback because the screen is only 480p.
