Help 8GB SD card Fatal Error

Ok, so ive had my Desire HD for less than 1 month and looking at it the other day there was an alien looking icon in top left corner so I looked at it and it said that teh SD card had been removed, so i removed it and put it back in as requested. This did nothing. I placed the SD card in my Blackberry torch and its coming up with "fatal error unable to read".

Having looked through the forum ive followed what advice people have given and even gone and borrowed a card reader to connect it to my laptop to reformat.......no joy wont even recognise its there.

So is this a manufacturers fault or .......... any help would be appriciated.

Could be a virus that has come off the Market? Have you downloaded any AntiVirus apps?
Other than that try putting it back in and then restarting your phone by holding down the power button for a few secs.
Their is a possibility that you could of done some damage by taking the SD card out, but these are just suggestions.
Did the SD card come with the phone or did you purchess it of ebay?
Hope you manage to get the problem sorted or you might be having to buy a new SD card.

hi, it came with my samsung camera, but because i wanted a big SD card in my HTC i replaced the 4GB one that came with it and put in the samsung one.

Still no joy and its extremely frustrating because I cant down the latest OS update and my phone goes nuts and I cant do anything when its plugged into a PC
