Help 99 problems, and my ZMax is one

Let me start off by saying hey to everyone. It's been a while since I have been on here, but good to see so much activity...

So here it is..

I had purchased two ZMax phones a while back from Metro PCS, one for me, and one for my girlfriend. Mine is still running, with only a few minor flaws. Ringer won't work at times, white (bright) spot in the screen, and a few other smaller issues. Nothing too bad, but enough that I won't buy another one of their phones again.

My girlfriends on the other hand, hers had an issue with the camera. Her front facing camera works fine, but the rear camera hangs on a black screen, then crashes seconds after being initialized.

I have tried everything I can think of...
Reset the phone to factory.. (x)
Installed third party camera software.. (x)
Updated the phone/software.. (x)

Even tried to get a hold of ZTE's service department so they can repair it... . (xxx)
Answered one phone call with the explanation that "sometimes hardware just fails", then one email asking for the phone information, and that was that. Never heard from them again, and haven't been able to get through to them. It's like they filter their calls.. lol

My question is, has anyone had this, or a similar issue? If so, How did you fix it?
If not, any suggestions on what you would do outside of what I have tried?

No, I do not have the insurance through Metro, and I am trying to avoid paying for the repair myself bwhen the phone is under warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase, as per the manufacturer. It hasn't been a year yet.. lol

Thanks..
Joe

Basically, is there a way to flash the stock ROM back on the phone, and if so, does anyone think it'll help?

Or can I somehow make a backup of my phone, including the settings and what not, and apply it to my girlfriends phone since we have the same phones?

This would only work if its a software issue, and from whatvu have said prior, its hardware that has the issue

I get the white bleed thru on some menu's when scrolling all the way to the top or bottom of the menu page, but I think that's a common, known issue.
Is that what you're getting, or something else?
