Afinia 3D Printer

Here is one of the legendary 3D printers guys. This is the machine which can even print a gun! Don't worry man, this is not some kind of advertisement. The makers of this printer are not my relatives.
Then why I can promoting it?
Because I am excited to find a 3D printer, it is the future man!

Price of this thing is $1599.

I'd be really tempted by one, it was more the ones that can print using a variety of materials, including.....chocolate :-D

I'd like to get one to remake all the little plastic parts that break, but you can't get replacements for.

Like all kids toys.
Since my son destroys everything.

Or the little plastic latch thingy on the vegetable drawer in my fridge. I can get a whole new drawer for $150, but I can't get a $0.50 plastic latch thingy!!

They do look interesting but I'd really like cnc lathe and mill. Dreamland stuff to me though...

I did manage to get a cheap Chinese made mini lathe though. Not done much but here is a desktop mic stand. The upright part is plain domestic 15mm water pipe.

CNC programming was part of my degree. If you get me in front of a Bridgeport or Hoss mill, I can throw some code out!! :D

You did a really good job with that mic stand John!! :)

Thanks! I'm only an occasional dabbler with no qualifications. Although for a short time until the company moved elsewhere, I was a trainee setter/operator making the ball pin part of track rod ends for cars. Mostly profile lathes but I think I'd still remember how to set a thread roller...

I've heard of Birdgeport. They seem to be a very respected name.
