A couple of issues.

The sync icon keeps appearing on my notification bar. I have my autosync turned off; and when I drag down my notification bar, no syncing appears. What's up with this?

Also, I type in English and Spanish. I don't want to turn my auto-correct off, neither want to keep going back and forth the language settings, so I turned on my bilingual prediction on, yet it doesn't work; when I type in Spanish, it turns my words into similar-English words. Upon turning this on, it says "latin-based keyboard must be used" or something like that. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe there is an app set to sync like Facebook or Twitter? Go under Settings / Acounts and Sync, and check to see what is listed there. Maybe you're seeing the sync icon because an app is requesting to sync but it's not being allowed to. Hence the progress arrow showing up. Also if you have the settings in the Weather Clock widget set to update when opened, it will update when you unlock the phone.

I believe with the bi-lingual auto correct, it will auto correct into the selected language. If you select Spanish as the main language, English spelled words will be auto corrected to the Spanish equivalent, and vice-versa. Make sense? :)

Wouldn't that be comsidered translating? I used to have this setting on my HTC One X and it used to work. It predicted the right words on both languages, that's what I can't seem to get right on this phone.

And about the app that syncs, no there isn't I have searched and no luck. Got no facebbok, no twitter, nothing like that.

Hmm, I'm lost then. I've never use the bilingual autocorrects, so I'm more than likely wrong.

Does the phone show data transfer while the sync icon is showing?

Try loading an app from the Play store called My Data Manager. Should list everything that is using data. Once we know what's using the data, maybe we can figure it out. :)

I don't use the built in keyboard, I use swype and it works for me when I'm typing in English or German. You have to set it up under languages and it will auto predict both languages simultaneously, quite well.

Just make sure if you do that you go into the system settings for the phone, languages and keyboard, and turn off spell checker.

I often find myself using English and German so it's pretty cool :)

I get that too, under accounts and sync there is HTC weather and you can set the time that it syncs but you cannot stop it. I'm assuming that is for the lock screen weather widget

Thanks everyone for their help. I figured that the sync icon appears because of the Okay Google thingy that keeps updating the weather, like someone suggested. And thanks for the keyboard help too.
Cheers
