A crazy idea..

Lurker
This may sound like a obvious and stupid question, but I was curious to know if it was remotely possible to switch the back and front facing cameras of the Nexus 4 with one another. Upon studying photos of the phone being disassembled, it looks like a no. (i.e. due to difference size, connectors) However I haven't given up on the idea. See, I recently switched to the LG G3, so my Nexus 4 is literally just sitting in a drawer collecting dust. Might as well experiment. To be honest, I've never attempted anything like this before, so I already expect the project to fail. So if I end up breaking anything, I won't be too upset.

If you are wondering why I would want to do this in the first place, other than having too much time on my hands, the answer is this: the Nexus 4's main camera sucks. As a point and shoot, it's pathetic in comparison to today's standards. I never used it. But... as a front facing camera for taking some loathsome bathroom selfies? It would be top of the line.

After a little more research, I will begin disassembly tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas on making this work, please let me know.

If the size and wiring are different, I'm guessing you're going to struggle - unless you want to have the phone in bits when you use it ;)

As for you your cunning bathroom selfie plan: I thought the whole point of the bathroom selfie was that you use the main camera and a mirror :D
