Android Expert
Hi all

I have been back and forth from Android to iPhone for the last two or three years. Admittedly, I have been using an iPhone for most of that period, but have had the Desire, the Hero, and the kids have Orange San Frans.

I am tempted by the new HTC Dual core Sensation (as the desire s and incredible s both just seem liked warmed-over Desires to me). If the iPhone 5 is not released in June, then I will probably jump to one of these - looks like a great device to me.

My questions are:

1: Can you copy and paste from the native Gmail app yet?
2: Is the Amazon market available in the UK yet? (i.e can I get AB Rio?)
3: When I look on appbrain, I still see the same old games from when I had my Hero. Are there any decent games on Android yet?

Cheers all.

1) Yes
2) No, but AB Rio is now on the Marketplace.
3) Android game dev still seems to be pretty slow, but you can find some decent stuff with little searching. Gameloft are pumping out some pretty good 3d games for a small fee. With Android predicted to hold close to 40% of the market share between now and 2015, devs should flood in.

Hope that helps.

I have no issue paying for apps - in fact, I'm a firm believer in this being the reason the Apple App Store has a propensity for better quality apps (debatable, I know).

Just out of interest:
What made you go from Galaxy S, to Nexus S, to Desire S?

I always found the resale value of the Android handsets a little soul-destroying.

I love the idea of the Nexus S, but it already seems to be outclassed.

The Sensation is looking nice ;)

The Nexus is cool, but I can only assume that it was built to a tiny budget. The whole device feels like you could snap it in half, and god knows why they chose to exclude certain features like the micro SD card. Maybe they know how terrible codec support is for videos.

I'm attracted to the idea of the Galaxy 2, but Samsung always fall down on build quality. Which is actually pretty odd, because most of thier products are very well made.

Looking like the Sensation will be my next toy. I'm going to be looking into getting a Honeycomb tablet first though. Some software that will actually utilise two cores, instead of just looking good on paper.

Also, I actually agree with you about the Apple apps. But I think its actually down to Apple providing a more lucrative model for developers than anything else.
