Help A fix for S3 (Verizon) signal issues????

First of all I'm not a S3 owner, but I am trying to decide between the S3 and the Razr HD. One concern is signal since I live in a fringe area. On another forum at another site I found this post about using tape under the battery to improve signal strength. Does this really work???

"Then I found the problem and It wasn't rf attenuation from the back cover. I found I could raise the sensitivity by 1 to 2 bars by simply raising the BATTERY up SLIGHTLY from that white pad that it lays against when its snapped into its little square space. I took a few pieces of Clear Tape like scotch tape and folded them over sticky to sticky and made a little clear plastic bed that goes in under the battery. Build it up with a few layers, there is some room to play with as the tape is very thin. If you use too much tape and make a battery bed that is too thick then the battery wont clip in and the back wont go on and you will know you over did it. This easy mod gets the battery up off of the bottom of the battery compartment and that seems to LOWER the amount of electronic hash that is ruining reception on the cell phone transponder and also the wi fi perks up a few bars too. I have done this to 3 hand units so far with the same good results. Also hold the s3 from the top of the unit, not the bottom. TRY THIS MOD. put a few layers of plastic tape under the battery, close it up and see what happens. over and out."

Dunno. Could you put [Verizon] in your subject title please? Just to get a more targetted and accurate response.

My I9300 might not have the best reception out there, but I never had relevant signal issues. The US variants may be more affected by this issue.

If you live in a decent to great signal area with 4G, the VZW GS3 is great (battery life too). It sucks though if you live in mainly areas with a weak 3G signal, since the battery drain is awful in that case.

IMO, amazing 4G device but awful 3G device when in weak signal areas. I have tested MANY phones with VZW and own the GS3, so not a troll. Still like the GS3 overall due to best display and no lame fixed navigation bar. I turn OFF data when in weak 3G areas due to the battery drain. Not worth it anyway, since when using data then, the phone gets hot and sucks the battery down quickly. I have had two GS3's and same result.

Perhaps the GS4 will finally get it right. I have not yet tested the HD beyond a store, so do not know if same fate as the GS3 as far as weak 3G areas. I just know I hate the fixed navigation bar on the HD Maxx and all other phone devices that have one.

Added: Perhaps GS3 radio update can fix. Probably not, but one can hope.

It is worth noting that phone call coverage is as good as my Razr was, so at least the phone works when needed. Kind of important.
