A good gallery replacement app?

Hi all!

I'm looking for something to replace the gallery app on my phone (which will remain nameless because somebody moves my post every time I said what phone I have).

I'm just looking for something reliable, that's got pinch to zoom, and the ability to swipe across (like iphone) to advance to the next pic. Preferably free.

Thanks!!

i'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but "floating image" is kinda cool. It not only shows your own photos, but pulls random ones off the web (but won't download them). It's fun watching pictures float by in no particular order.

Yeah, I actually already have floating image installed, but it doesn't do either of the things I asked about.

Try JustPictures!

From their description: "JustPictures! lets you browse photos from Picasa, Flickr, Smugmug, Facebook, Photobucket, Windows Live, Tumblr and your SDCARD, in a unified and clean UI."

Will even let you include/exclude which directories on the SDCARD to show.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for, thanks! If the thumbnails didn't load so slow, it would be the perfect program.

Wow! Just a few hours later, the dev released a new version with much faster loading thumbnails! Thanks again for recommending, cos this is the best photo app I've ever seen on Android (though I've only used it for local SD images, so far). 5 stars, for sure.

Another good app is Picturen. Swiping is much smoother than JP or QuickPic (I have a low end phone).

QuickPic....end story. It beats all others out of the water. Only thing it does not do is Gather pics from sources outside of your SD card (Flixter, Facebook, Etc)

sorry to wake up an old-ish thread.. but im still trying to decide on a good gallery replacement that allows me to decide which folders i want to view (and remove videos) i like quickpic a lot, but it renders fullscreen images pretty slow, very slow compared to the android gallery app. i'll try justpictures but is there any other?

thanks, ninja! thats an excellent app. does everything i want. although it doesnt support multi-touch yet, im sure it'll be added in the next version.. u can still zoom with it. and u can hide folders u dont want to view, remove videos and it fast! exactly wat i was looking for, thanks

Have you ever tried Foozer?! Hier the link

I have Quickpic too, but Foozer has another interesting features

To recommend!

Another fan of JustPictures here... the ability to access Picasa and Facebook make it better than Quickpic in my opinion.

Is there a gallery app out there that allows you to create/delete/edit folders and move pictures around to different folders? I'm not sure I understand why this isn't a part of every gallery app...or am I just a moron?

+1 for Quickpic. All you do is long press the thumbnail and select "move to", then you can move it to whatever folder you want. http://www.appbrain.com/app/the-moron-test/com.distinctdev.tmt Sorry, couldn't resist.

PS: Tried Picturen, won't install on my Galaxy Player. Tried Foozer, don't like the green or the UI. Just tried Fishbowl, think it might actually replace Quickpic on my Player. Some very cool features, and very quick.

Downloaded Fishbowl and I really like it. It is definitely replacing my stock gallery.
