A Hello and Help (Galaxy SII Problems)

Hi everybody,

I just joined as i need some help with my damaged s2.

I'll start from the beginning, about two months ago i used my phone outside whilst it was raining (half of my job is outside), before this time i was very impressed with how rugged the phone stood up to damp weather. But when i went back inside i noticed after ten minutes my phone started acting up, over heating and apps started opening and closing. so i turned the phone off and left it till the evening. The next day the phone seemed fine at first then did the same things but added to that the screen started flashing and flickering then the phone died. I sent it to samsung and they said they couldn't fix it under warranty as it was water damaged.

I then took it to a phone repair centre and they put a new battery in it and hey presto it was working again..............except it wasn't.

The phone often turns itself off and has to have the battery taken out, left for a minute then put back in. It take a long hold of the power button for it to turn on again as well, about 20 seconds, which when you have to do it three four times a day is quite a long time.

It also has other problems, in that the date and time won't automatically update. I had organised all my apps into folders for say ''games'' "work apps" etc etc, it has now thrown all of these out, left the folders empty and spread them across the main menu.

You can tell when it is not far from closing itself down again as the 'lock' button no longer reacts to being pushed to lock or unlock.

The last symptom it's having is that sometimes when it has been on charge, you unplug it and it hasn't updated the battery status so it thinks its still only 1/2% charged. To remedy you hard reset again.

Oh also when texting, it sometimes doesn't keep the texts in order, so you'll text someone, and what you've written most recently will disappear some where in the middle of the previous conversation.

Any help would be much appreciated as i really need a sturdy reliable phone, and don't want to have to shell out for an iphone4s!

cheers

Matt

Welcome Matt, unfortunately, when you get water damage it is hit or miss, I would direct you to your proper device section, but before doing that which carrier are you on, so I send you to the proper section. They might have some suggestions there for you.
