Root A lil help please

Now bare with me cause im going to take you through the steps of what led up to my ongoing problem.

Alright just got my evo from a friend with a cracked screen for free said f* it since i know the screens are cheap.
Root the phone with the revolutionary: s-off & recovery tool. success.
Load a custom rom "[ROM]-[MikRoms]-Supersonic3D RC1.2-[10/14/2011]-Sense 3.5" success

This is where things get messy. Wife calls and says hey our friend at sprint says he can fix the screen for free. I say shit, need to unroot in case they say opps out of warranty because of root. Not fixing.

So i find an unroot thread download the file and flash it like it says. Fine up to this point. Phone Reboots with S-on and the custom Rom still loaded (flashed) and after the two flash screens (the htc evo one and the custom rom one) all that comes up is the wall paper and the notification bar. I can see the data signal but if i plug it into the usb cord attached to my pc nothing happens.
I have also tired flashing a stock ruu from recovery which i believe is clockwork and when flashing from zip it says successful but after reboot it still loads the custom rom.

Ok so any suggestions. I dont have the phone right in front of me but since my wife took it to sprint but will be getting it back in about 30mins or so. The bootloader is the 2.16 im pretty sure.

If i left anything specs or anything else out please let me know. I would really like to get this phone working again since my old trusty hero has just about had it. Sorry again for the long post just figured i would try to make this detailed.

You have S-ON but you still have a custom Recovery and ROM.

Go to the rooting for dummies gingerbread and download the RUU exe file in the unrooting section in red text. Run it from your computer and just make sure your computer doesnt go to sleep at this time.

That should get you all set.

thanks bro. i was able to put the file on my sd card with an adapter and the bootloader updated the ruu. I am now back up and running.
