A little overwhelmed...

I'm a newbie to the "Smartphone" as I just recieved my HTC Desire HD in the box today. Can't seem to figure out a few things....

1) After X amount of seconds, my screen fades to black, and I have to hit the on button to get the screen back...is this normal?

2) Can't seem to figure out how to add "Contacts" from my old LG 8100 cell phone...whether it will sync up, or even to do it manually? I gave it a try, trying to manually add 1 person, and after making a single call, when I try to edit the contact, it auto dials him? So...I need to know how to add a contact.

3) For the life of me, in trying to get my PC network password set up on my Desire, has been frustration at it's best. I'm assuming it's my router password that is needed, and I know it's correct, but my phone keeps telling me it's not! I even reset it (correctly) and typed in the new password, but my Desire just wouldn't take it as being correct?

4) Not sure on how to get some of my Itunes music onto my Desire HD? If it helps, my PC is running Windows 7 Proffessional.

5) How do I set up HTC Sense?

Yes this is normal. It's a battery saving feature. After an x amount of time with no activity, the phone display will automatically turn off. You can change the timeout value by going into settings > display >screen timeout.

In order to edit your contacts you have get into the edit menu. If you just hit the number, you'll just dial the number. Personally, I think the easiest way to enter in your contacts is through your gmail account. Under contacts page, you can enter everything in one shot. Your phone will sync with this account automatically.

There's a password to log into your router, and there's a separate password for your wifi encryption. The password you want to enter into your phone is the one for the encryption. The encryption used should be along the lines of wep, wpa, wpa2 etc..

5) How do I set up HTC Sense?

By setting up do you meaning putting widgets and apps on you homescreen? If so, press and hold on the homescreen, on the menu selects widgets or shortcut. Select the widget or app you want.
