Help A new F3 user, many questions. Root, Unroot backups ext.

So this chick at the local grocery knocked my Motorola Triumph out of the basket that I forgot it in, screen got broke. No hard feelings it was time for an upgrade anyways and I forgot my phone, she was doing her job. Moving on...

I hear motochopper is the way to go when rooting but I haven't seen a completely clear walk though. Are there any options to unroot? Is there any way to backup what was original on the phone like the Triumph (clockworkmod)?
